Can practical challenges improve cybersecurity skills?
Cybersecurity requires people to investigate unusual activity and make decisions when the cause of a problem is not immediately obvious. When I faced a difficult security task, I thought about do my cyber security assignments, but decided to work through the problem myself first. Breaking the situation into smaller questions helped me identify possible weaknesses and understand the reasoning behind different defenses. I think solving realistic problems can build stronger skills than memorizing security definitions. Would more challenge-based learning improve cybersecurity education?
